Our story

taking action through design for more equality

Taiseer & Ronja in their previous business jobs were on the lookout for, well, business bags! The choices were limited to PVC plastiky tacky bags, or heavy masculin-looking leather bags. Needless to say no ecological business bags either. Women simply didn’t have their own “business bags”. We looked at each other in the same moment we knew we had to do this ourselves! And the rest is history.

After months of research of the most sustainable options for our handbags, we booked tickets to visit ALL of Portugal to learn more about cork. We fell in love. The trees, the fabrics, the artisans, the ateliers. We simply knew we were on the right track. Sustainable materials were at the heart of Bag Affair, and we were at the heart of the cork forests in Portugal – perfection.

Urban, classic, feminine, practical, ecological

So we now use cork and a lot of our imagination to work. The goal is to reinvent a female work bag. Or pretty much invent it altogether as they hardly exist for women. The outcome of any Bag Affair model must meet these basic criteria: feminine, elegant, practical and of course, ecological.
